The original work is written for guitar by the composer and baroque guitar player Gaspar Sanz (1640 – 1710), within his work titled “music instruction about the Spanish guitar and its first methods until playing skilfully”. “La Folia” is a popular Spanish dance (folklore dance) with a Portuguese origin which took place around the end of the Middle Ages on the Iberian Peninsula. It represents an essential element for instrumental repertoires, for Portugal as for Spain in the XVII and XVIII centuries. Difficulty: Intermediate level
