“The flight of the bumblebee (Trio)”. Written by Nicolae Rimsky-Korsakov for his opera “The tale of Tzar Sultan”, composed between 1899 and 1900. This version for marimba was an order made by the Perkustra company for their show “Marimb‘um’” in 2005. It tries to be a comical version of the famous work of Korsakov, in which 3 musicians search for the way to enable themselves to play together on the same marimba of 5 octaves. This piece must be played by heart to avoid having stands and therefore permit the audience to see each and every movement. Difficulty: Intermediate Level
